Rules and Notices

To ensure that all attendees can enjoy their visit, please check the following rules and notices prior to joining the event.

Joining and Attending

  • Please see the How to Join page for instructions on how to register.
  • We will contact you via Connpass messages regarding info on how to visit/enter the venue.
    Please make sure to check your messages/emails as necessary.
  • A reservation on Connpass is required for attendance.
    • Drop-in attendance without a reservation is not permitted, and will be denied at the gates.
      Attempting to force entry into the venue without permission will be subject to legal action and/or prosecution by local authorities for tresspassing and security violations.
    • For venue safety and event preparation reasons, we cannot increase the number of reservations spots or allow registration after the event registration period has ended.
      We will not respond to requests for additional event capacity or unjust registration beyond what is permitted by the registration site - if Connpass does not allow you to reserve attendance, it is not possible to you to attend.
    • Attempting to gain registration by spamming, harassing, or extorting staff, participants, sponsors, or any other party whether involved or uninvolved are extreme violations of the event’s Anti-Harassment Policy described below, and will result in an immediate ban from all Tenkey events and action from local authorities as required.
  • To allow as many people to attend as possible, please cancel your attendance as early as possible if you are unable to attend following registration.

Registration and Nametags

  • All participants will be provided a nametag when entering the venue.
    • Please wear the provided nametag around your neck at all times during the event.
      For security reasons, those without a nametag will be subject to dismissal.
    • The name and icon printed on the nametag will be that of your Connpass account.
      Since we will prepare the nametags ahead of time, please make any changes to this information as early as possible.
  • Children of elementary school age or lower (max one child per adult participant) and caregivers (max one caregiver per participant) may accompany a registered participant.
    • If such accompanying persons will be present, please indicate as such during the questionnaire shown during event registration.
    • If bringing children, please keep an eye on them at all times.
    • For “accompanying children of elementary school age or lower”, we mak ask for a docuemnt during venue entry confirming that the accompanying child meets such age regulations.
    • For “accompanying caregivers”, we may ask for a document during venue entry confirming the reason for the accompanying caregiver.
  • Please only register for oneself by oneself.
    • For security and fairness reasons, proxy registrations for others, the transferring/repurposing/sale of event registrations and/or Connpass accounts, and the proposal of or assistance to such actions are strictly prohibited.
      Such privilege-transferring actions are also prohibited by Connpass’s Terms of Use.
    • If such actions are discovered, all individuals involved will be denied participation to all Tenkey events including the day of, and will also be reported to Connpass.
    • Misuse of the aforementioned accompanying child/caregiver capacity for non-applicable individuals also falls under such aforementioned repurposing.

Media and Privacy

  • If you wish to attend for the purposes of interviewing, or wish to cover the event for a company or legal entity, prior registration is required by venue regulations.

  • Live broadcasting/streaming of the event is prohibited.
  • We allow photography and video filming of the event, as well as uploading to blogs, social media, and similar.
    Please note that due to this, images or footage of attendees may end up shared to the general public.

Items and Belongings

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage to property - please manage your possessions responsibly.
  • The use of dollies/push carts is prohibited due to venue regulations.
    Suitcases are permitted.
  • If bringing a keyboard or related items to display, please check the keyboard display guidelines.

Venue

  • Eating and drinking is prohibited within the venue aside from designated areas.
  • There are no smoking rooms within the venue.
    If necessary, please use the smoking area on the 4th floor of the venue building or one outside of the building.
  • Due to potential negative effects of disinfecting chemicals on keyboards, the act of disinfecting displayed items without permission is prohibited.
    Please clean your own hands and fingers as desired using the cleaning alcohol/wipes available at the venue.

Event Details

  • Tenkey is an event primarily for community interaction.
    • Due to venue regulations, transactions and/or sale of products by attendees within the venue is prohibited.
    • We may ask attendees to rectify or remove displays which event staff find inappropriate for the event goal of community interaction.
    • Similarly, we may dismiss attendees from the event if any are found engaging in behavior which the staff find inappropriate for the event goal of community interaction.
  • The event may be cancelled due to unforeseen or inevitable circumstances.
    In such a scenario, we will contact attendees via Connpass messages.
  • The event details are subject to change without prior notice.

Anti-Harassment Policy

At Tenkey Tokyo, all participants are subject to an Anti-Harassment Policy for the safety of the event and its attendees.

This Policy has been established to maintain an enjoyable and safe atmosphere both for current and future attendees to attend without worry or risk - thus this Policy applies not only to actions and speech within the venue, but also for communications following the event as well as posts and communications on social media, blogs, and similar.

Disclaimer

Denial and Exemption of Warranty

The Event Organizers make no guarantee of whether or not this Event meets the goals and/or objectives of the Participant.
Furthermore, the Event Organizers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, accidental, or punitive damages, expenses, losses, or liabilities arising from attending and/or participating at the Event.

Limitation of Recompensation

Response Upon Damages to the Venue Facilities

Upon any damages or defacement to the venue facilities (including but not limited to desks, chairs, facility equipment, and any other fixtures) by a Participant, the Participant shall be held liable for the full amount of restoration and repair costs as well as any associated fess such as but not limited to handling fees and delinquent charges.

Handling of Event Cancellations

Criteria for Cancellation
The Event Organizers may cancel or shorten the Event if the Event become difficult to hold due to disasters such as but not limited to earthquakes, typhoons, floods, large-scale transit infrastructure disruptions, epidemics, terrorism, war, civil unrest, orders for cancellation from government agencies, public institutions, or venue providers, or any other force majeure.

Examples of the criteria of disasters leading to cancellation are as follows:

  • If the train lines nearest the venue face closure and reaching the venue becomes difficult
  • If any environmental warnings such as but not limited to the ones below are issued by the Meteorological Agency for areas including the venue location
    • Heavy wind warning
    • Heavy snow warning
    • Blizzard warning
    • Special/Emergency warnings (heavy rain, heavy wind, storm, high tide, high waves, blizzard, heavy snow)
    • Ashfall warning
  • If the government issues an restraint order due to epidemics, large-scale disasters, or similar
  • If the venue owners request or recommend cancellation

Contact Method in the Case of Cancellation
If the Event Organizers form the decision to cancel the Event, they shall promptly notify the Participants via e-mail, notices to the application website (Connpass), and any other available means.

Refunds in the Case of Cancellation
If the Event Organizers form the decision to cancel the Event, under no circumstances shall refunds shall be issued.
The attendance fees shall be used to cover the costs of cancellation of the Event.
The Event Organizers shall not be liable for and will not offer refunds for damages and expenses arising from the event or its cancellation.

Other Liabilities

The Event Organizers shall not be held liable for any matters not covered above.
